Resolution
It's all in the resolution! Put simply, the more pixels a TV has, the better the picture will be. A 1080 HD Ready TV has around 2 million pixels, where as a standard 720 HD Ready TV only has around 1 million pixels You'll see a TV's resolution displayed like this: 1366 x 768. This tells you how many lines make up the picture on your TV screen. The first number is the number of lines that run vertically along the screen, the second is the number of lines that run horizontally.
HD Ready
HD means High Definition and refers to the technologies that give TVs a clearer and sharper picture. HD ready means that the TV is able to accept and display HDTV programming. It needs to be connected to an HD source and will have HDMI or DVI terminals so they can get the HDTV signal.

CD-R/RW Compatible
CD-R's are CD copies or compilations made using a CD writer. Most CD players play them. CD-RWs are rewritable CDs, which can be recorded on to again and again. If you intend to make and listen to your own CD copies, you need to make sure that your CD player will play these formats

LCD
Liquid crystal display (LCD) screens come to life when light from behind the screen is shone through the screen's matrix of tiny coloured liquid crystal cells. Signals control each cell, letting varying amounts of colour through, and a picture is built up.

Blu-ray

Blu-ray offers an amazing 1080p Full HD Experience so realistic you'll feel like your starring in the film! Blu-ray can hold 25GB on a single layer disc, 50GB on a dual layer disc. 50GB relates to over 9 hours of High Definition video and around 23 hours of standard definition video. Blu-ray is backwards compatible with standard DVDs so there's no need to replace your entire collection. If you choose a player or recorder with Up-scaling or Up-converting features it will upscale a standard DVD picture to make best use of the extra pixels available on your HD Ready TV
